Some people say RSS means really simple syndication. Well maybe it is really simple but a lot of people have trouble comprehending what it is and if they need it. To wrap your mind around a new concept sometimes it’s best to compare it to something your already know about.
It’s kind of like using email and bookmarks at the same time. It’s better than email in the sense you don’t have to give out your email to get information mailed to you. Also when you like a site you’re visiting (like mine for example
you would bookmark it. The trouble is after having hundreds of bookmarks it gets messy.
By using an RSS feed, you can subscribe to a web page and be notified when it has something new to look at it and it will even put that information in your browser for you to read. Sort of like the web coming to you on your terms after you set it up. It’s really not that hard as the video below will show and it is only going to get much bigger in use.
As you get over the learning curve it can make your web experience easier and faster.
